I run AI infrastructure for a living. Before Card Network, I built and shipped 200+ Cloudflare Workers, deployed Graph RAG across 12 internal D1 systems, and watched every team I worked with hit the same wall: their AI was making things up because it did not have the right 250-token chunk in front of it when the customer asked.
Card Network is the protocol I wish I had three years ago. Authoring-time pre-chunking, typed edges, deterministic retrieval. We use it ourselves — the 12-system internal deployment is the reference implementation. We migrate customer corpora into it in 4-8 weeks. The reason we charge what we charge is the reason a customer pays it: the substrate works the day it ships.
I built this because the alternative is a runtime-RAG industry that bills $8K/mo to ship the wrong 8,000 tokens to every query. That is not a technology problem. It is a chunking-discipline problem. We solved chunking discipline, then turned the solution into a protocol you can audit, license, and operate.
Why It Exists
A CFO does not buy “your AI agents will be 8-second-cards-aware.” They buy “you stop bleeding $80K/quarter on customer-support agents that make things up because their context window is 2K tokens.” Card Network is the substrate that makes the second sentence true.
Why It Is Defensible
Patent provisional filed. Trademarks: Card Network™ and C.A.R.D.™. Dual-license posture: PolyForm Noncommercial spec for the open community + per-org Commercial tiers for production deployments. A customer who builds on Card Network is not exposed to retroactive licensing risk.
